Hey guys, today we will be going over the second step in the quest to acetaminophen. In the previous video I extracted ASA from aspirin pills and now it is time to hydrolyze it to salicylic acid. This will be done by a simple acid-catalyzed ester hydrolysis. The next step in this process is the decarboxylation to phenol.
