CNC... Cake Decorating?

If you've ever been decorating a cake, you know that accurately dispensing icing can be tricky. Well like all things, with a little bit of science and engineering, it's possible to make a robot to do this tricky job for you.

The real star of the video is the syringe pump that makes this work. I've needed one for a while for a variety of projects, but all those projects are expensive and fiddly to get working, so I realized the icing was the perfect material to test the system. And once you're dispensing icing with a robot, it's only responsible to strap it onto a CNC machine and print some designs.
