Inspired by early vessel forms from the Shang and Zhou periods and pottery from the Sung Dynasty, Hsin-Chuen Lin integrates cultural influences into his work using contemporary concepts and techniques. Over 1 million YouTube followers can attest to his ceramics mastery and skillful teaching methods. With over 30 years of pottery experience, Hsin’s award-winning work can be found featured in many ceramics publications and exhibited in museums and galleries nationally and internationally.
This hands-on workshop is designed for wheel throwers who wish to learn new techniques for enhancing and decorating the surfaces of their pots. Hsin will demonstrate how to apply roller textures to the surface of your pots. Additionally, Hsin will demonstrate throwing skills including throwing off the hump.
This workshop is part of 2019 International Cultural Exchange Week at the Palo Alto Art Center, presented by the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, Chinese Ceramic Art Council, USA, Clay Planet, and Sonoma Community Center.
